Pediatric Hospital

A pediatric hospital is a facility completely devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of infants, children, and young adults.  Because of this narrow focus, pediatric hospitals tend to serve more serious conditions, while normal doctor visits and procedures are often done at regular hospitals.

Pediatric hospitals treat trauma, injuries, congenital disorders and diseases, and more.  Cancer, serious injuries, and birth defects are all common conditions treated at a pediatric hospital.  Because of this, pediatric hospitals often emphasize psychiatric health and the well-being of the whole family.  Many pediatric hospitals keep psychiatrists on staff to help families and children deal with difficult circumstances.
